Matte Release Party. Matte is another new art magazine. They are having a release party on Wednesday at Vital 5.
"44 page tome on creative independance in art, film, music. Party features:
Minus the Bear and Biography of Ferns play live, film screenings, art, beer, the first issue of Matte"

Thursday, 3/28.

Candy (Super8 Shorts). The Pound Gallery and Three Dollar Bill Cinema present CANDY. "In the spirit of DIY filmmaking, Three dollar Bill Cinema provided ten local artists with one roll of Super8 film and a theme -- CANDY. They had less than two weeks to create a three minute film with in-camera edits. The possibilities were eendless, and you won't want to miss the delicious results. A smash hit of the 2001 Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival! Plus: Hysterically horny housewives live out finger-lickin' good fantasies in SEX RAY. (dir. Kim Beecroft)".

Kaosmosis, Celebrating the Art of Burning Man. This is an event at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland. "The phenomenon of Burning Man has gained worldwide recognition. AIGA Portland proudly brings Kaosmosis, Celebrating the Art of Burning Man to Portland.
Guest speakers, Larry Harvey, the event's founder and Burning Man Curator Lady Bee will be presenting an overview of the history of art at Burning Man. Larry will also speak about the social philosophy of interactive art.
They will be accompanied by world renowned performance artist, Steve Raspa. Following their presentation the party will last until 2 am. Other highlights of the event include: a show of some of Portland's best art cars, Burning Man art, Cross Dress For Less, a performance by the 20 Foot Man, Cybelvis, DJ Doctor Zomb's Radio Obscura and many more surprises."
