MAKTUB w/ Heather Duby & DJ Brandy Westmore @ Showbox.

Amina is recommending this event:

Join us this Friday 7/19 at the Showbox in Seattle for your summer dose of Maktub. Heather Duby is back to her healthy self and will definitely be opening along with the intoxicating DJ Brandy Westmore presiding over the wheels of steel. What more could you ask for?

Saturday, 7/20 - Sunday, 7/21.

The 15th Annual Mediterranean Fantasy Festival.

Pauline and Franz are letting us know about Washington's biggest belly dancing event not to be missed. Pauline writes:

I saw exquisite Belly Dancers at the Oregon Country Fair and was
amazed to find out about this event so soon. I thought I would pass
this your way for those who appreciate beautiful belly's.

One of the Raqs Al-Hamra belly dancers writes:

"Basically it is a wacky outdoor belly dance festival. There are vendors (cool jewelry and garb - even for those that don't dance)and food. And the highlight is the outdoor stage with NON-STOP belly dance performances. There are over 100 dancers / troupes scheduled to perform over the weekend. Some really, really good; some really, really bad and everything in between.... It's just campy enough (and a touch freakish at times) to be cool. If you have never been before it is definitely worth experiencing..."
